The UN Human Rights Council is a hypocritical organization with an automatic anti-Israeli majority. To date, it has passed 91 resolutions: 39 of them on Israel, 3 on Syria and 1 on Iran. Just listening to the Syrian delegate speaking about human rights today was enough to show us how disconnected the Council is from reality. It’s a council that should be ashamed of itself, and has nothing whatsoever to do with human rights

I dont mean to be ignorant or anything, I'm writing a paper on the claim that the Yom Kippur War was Israel's fault. I couldn't find much other than it was caused because of the 6 Day War. I'm not sure what else would have caused the Yom Kippur War by somepeopleplacesandthings
Remember, the Yom Kippur War wasn’t started by Israel - it was a complete surprise attack.
Causes of the Yom Kippur War 1973 (and its devastation)
1. Egypt and Syria needed to restore their honour after their previous humiliating defeats
2. Israel was overconfident from its previous military victories and because the United States was supplying arms to Israel. (It was the Cold War and the Soviet Union was providing arms to the Arab countries)
3. Sadaat, (Egypt) wanted Israeli withdrawal from the Sinai before/without negotiations
4. Syria and Egypt prepared for a surprise attack with the support of the Soviet Union
5. Israeli intelligence ignored reports as they thought an Arab attack was unlikely during Ramadan (and they wouldn’t dare attack Israel because of Israel’s military prowess).
These causes are a little more two sided than the paper you’re writing, but I’m sure it can still be useful.
30,000 Palestinian and Syrian youths signed a petition expressing their willingness to be used as suicide bombers and in other martyrdom-seeking operations inside Israel, saying they are ready to infiltrate Israel and conduct any type of operation.
The petition said that those who signed it have passed military, combat and tactical trainings.
Does this call for martyrdom within Israel have any relationship with next years anti-israel crusade, The Global march to Jerusalem, described in Engaging Zion ”as a crazy scheme concocted by God-intoxicated fanatics hellbent on starting a Global Holy War.”?
In an article titled “Syrian Blood for Matzas,” posted on Sooryoon.net, which is close to Syrian Islamic opposition circles, Dr. Osama Al-Malouhi claimed that a public opinion poll conducted in Israel shows that 80% of Israelis support Bashar Al-Assad’s remaining in power, and adds that Israel’s support of Assad is the reason the world does not act against him. He goes on to state that this poll brings to mind the Jewish ritual murder to obtain blood for Passover matzas, recalls the 1840 Damascus blood libel, and says, “It may be that the Jews are reviving their heritage and religious rituals, and are taking pleasure in watching Syrian blood being spilled. Perhaps the murderer [Assad] will [even] bring it to them for [their] matza.”
“The clear truth is that Bashar Al-Assad is the most popular [leader] among Israelis. [They] want Bashar the murderer to stay [in power]. A few days ago, a public opinion poll was published in Israeli papers, according to which 80% of Israelis support Bashar remaining in power. [Another] poll published in Israeli papers several days ago showed that [Israeli PM Benjamin] Netanyahu’s popularity rose following the Shalit deal, exceeding 50% for the first time. This means that Bashar receives more popular support among Israelis than Netanyahu at his best times.

Asking myself why Jewish support of Bashar increased [even] after they saw the rivers of Syrian blood this mass-murderer spilled in Syrian towns, an old image leapt to my mind, of Jews bleeding people and using their blood to prepare matzas. Logic does not accept this, but the facts prove it.

Needless to say, there has been no poll showing that 80% of Israelis support Assad. And it is indeed disheartening to know that the Syrian opposition is just as bigoted and hateful as the government is - perhaps more so.
Syria will strike Israel and “set fire” to the Middle East if foreign forces choose to launch a military strike on the protest-ridden country, Syrian President Bashar Assad said on Tuesday.
During a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Assad was quoted by the Iranian semi-official news agency Fars as saying that Syria would not hesitate to strike major Israeli cities if it was attacked.
