Belgian High Court overruled today a decision of a lower court to force the Belzer girl’s school in Antwerp to accept Moshe Ahron Friedman’s sons in their school. Friedman is a former Neturei Karta member, visited Iran with his wife and children, and has fled from one Jewish community to the other causing havoc wherever he set foot.
About two months ago he convinced a Belgian court to force Bnos Yerushalayim, a girl’s school, to accept his two sons to their school while he wanted his daughters to attend the mixed religious-Zionist Yavne school. If Bnos Yerushalayim would refuse, they would have to pay a fine of 1000 Euro (about $1300) per day per child.
The Belzer Rebbe instructed his chassidim to appeal, but in the meantime listen to the court. Not to make any big fuss about it. A difficult thing in such a situation, but the Belzer chassidim listened to their Rebbe. Today we saw the result: the high court ruled in favor of the Belzer mosdos.
